Privacy Policy
PDFzen is a free guides site. We keep things simple on purpose: you do not need an account, and we do not collect personal information from you just to read our guides. This page explains the little data that is involved and how you stay in control.
Information we collect
We do not collect names, passwords, or payment details, because the site has no accounts and sells nothing. The only data we touch are:
- Aggregated analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see which guides help people most. This is reported in aggregate (page views, rough region) and is not tied to your identity.
- Voluntary emails. If you write to us via the contact page, we keep your message only to reply and to improve the guide. We never sell or share it.
Cookies & third-party advertising
To keep the site free, we display advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies — including the DoubleClick cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
You can control personalized advertising in several ways:
- Google Ads Settings: https://www.google.com/settings/ads
- Opt out of many third-party vendors via YourAdChoices (aboutads.info) or youronlinechoices.com
- Block or delete cookies in your own browser settings at any time.
Disabling these cookies does not stop ads from appearing — it only stops them from being tailored to you.
How we use information
Aggregated analytics help us decide which guides to expand or rewrite. That is the full extent of it. We do not build profiles, and we do not share analytics data with anyone except the processors named above (Google).
Data retention
Analytics data is retained by Google per its own policy. Emails you send are kept only as long as needed to resolve your question, then deleted on request.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are in the EU/UK or California, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you (for example, an email you sent). To exercise this, contact us via our contact page. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.
Children's privacy
PDFzen is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and the "last updated" date below. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated policy.
